Book this experience The itinerary below is an example of what we can arrange: every experience is private and tailor-made. Your Insider will contact you 72 hours before you join us to build a programme that matches your expectations and your interests. In our experience, we do even better in 90% of cases.

A gourmet tour that changes address with every course

Rather than spending two hours in a single restaurant, we do three. Starter, main and dessert are served in three different bistronomic establishments, each with its signature dish and the glass of wine that goes with it.

Three kitchens, three dining rooms, three atmospheres, and the walk in between to make room, exploring Lyon off the beaten track with your private Insider.

Locals' tables, the real Lyon gastronomy

The three addresses are frequented first and foremost by Lyonnais. The selection changes with the season and with what you like: tell us when booking.

The Presqu'île on foot, between courses

Between each stop, a stroll through the Presqu'île, with the stories your Insider has kept aside: what happened in this courtyard, why this street bears this name, what the façades hide.

What your Insider can also arrange

The stops below are examples, not a set programme. They are here to give you ideas: the day's agenda is then decided together with your Insider.

The Presqu'île, the least visited part of historic Lyon

This is the least touristy part of UNESCO-listed Lyon. A few centuries ago it was still largely swampland, and it expanded dramatically over the last century: the city can be read here layer by layer.

Second World War stories

Lyon played a particular role under the Occupation, and the Presqu'île still bears the traces behind ordinary façades. These are neighbourhood stories, told in front of the spot where they happened.

Three tables where locals eat

The three addresses are the ones we go to ourselves. There is a good chance you will be the only visitors there that evening, and that is precisely the point.

Where the veterinary school was invented

The world's first veterinary school opened in Lyon. You walk past the spot — and without the plaque, nobody would guess.

Local wines, course by course

Each stop comes with a glass chosen for the dish, and the chance to discover the region's wines without leaving the city.

None of this is automatic, and this list is far from complete. Every outing is put together for the people living it: yours will be one of a kind, and it will never have been run in exactly this way before. Your Insider will contact you before departure to pick, among these experiences and many others, the ones that best match what you are after.

A private tour, the Insiders way

A Lyonnais Insider who knows the kitchens and the inner courtyards, a group that stays yours, and three tables where you are expected.
