Book this experience The itinerary below is an example of what we can arrange: every day is private and tailor-made. Your Insider will contact you 72 hours before your day with us to build a programme that matches your expectations and your interests. In our experience, we do even better in 90% of cases.

A tour that starts with the producers

Most cooking classes start in the kitchen. Ours starts in the fields and the barns, with the people who produce what you will cook in the afternoon.

Market gardener, poultry or cattle farmer depending on the season: we visit, we taste, and we do the shopping together.

A mâchon, the Lyon way

At midday, a traditional mâchon, the Lyonnais silk workers' picnic, served in a historic château, in the vines, or shared with a producer.

The mâchon is followed by lunch at a restaurant chosen by your Insider, with short-supply-chain cooking — the region is full of good produce.

The afternoon at the stove, the evening with food and wine pairings

Back to Lyon for a cooking class with a private chef in his workshop. We cook what we bought in the morning.

Then we sit down: a convivial dinner, food and wine pairings, and the satisfaction of having followed every ingredient from where it started.

What your Insider can also arrange

The stops below are examples, not a set programme. They are here to give you ideas: the day's agenda is then decided together with your Insider.

The producers, depending on the season

Fruit, vegetables, dairy, poultry: who welcomes you depends on what there is to harvest that day. They are all passionate about their work, and we are the only outsiders they let into their world.

A medieval castle, privately, with its owner

The visit takes place outside any public opening, and the owner leads it himself. What you get out of it depends on the questions you ask.

A cooking class in the heart of the city

The private class is held in a cooking studio or in a private flat in the city centre, depending on availability. Either way, you cook what was bought that same morning.

None of this is automatic, and this list is far from complete. Every outing is put together for the people living it: yours will be one of a kind, and it will never have been run in exactly this way before. Your Insider will contact you before departure to pick, among these experiences and many others, the ones that best match what you are after.

A private tour, the Insiders way

A local Insider who knows the region and its best addresses by heart, a private vehicle, and nobody at the wheel but him.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to know how to cook?

No. The chef adapts to everyone's level: you can do everything or simply join in the steps you enjoy.

Which producers do we visit?

It depends on the season and what there is to harvest: market gardener, poultry or cattle farmer. The evening menu is partly decided on the spot.

Are special diets catered for?

Yes, as long as you tell us in advance: the chef builds the menu accordingly.
